Dakotafest 2007

Brookings - SD FFA & PAS (Post-Secondary Agriculture Students) partnered with the SD Soybean Research Council by working the "Soy Diesel Tent" at Dakotafest, August 22, in Mitchell, SD, and the Brown County Fair, August 17, in Aberdeen, SD.  Fourteen students served nearly 3700 bowls of ice cream, handed out prizes, and gave away soy based products including lotion, hand soap, donuts and promotional items including cozies, first aide kits and thermometers.  The partnership promoted a value-added agricultural product and was a great way for students to promote current agricultural youth organization activities through conversations with individuals going through the tent.
